Even a person of my sensibilities (a strong dislike of children, college football, granting dying wishes for children who enjoy college football, etc.) cannot help but be touched by the insistance of Notre Dame’s Charlie Weiss to start Saturday’s game against Washington with a play chosen by a young boy who had just passed away.

There is no truth to the rumor, however, that Nebraska’s Bill Callahan is trying to hire the deceased youngster as his new offensive coordinator.
