how do you think this will work seeing as fox/cbs just payed over 10 billion dollars for their respective slates of games? if i were one of them i might be looking for a discount if the best late season games are going to be taken from me and given to a competitor.
yeah, except I gather that the NFL made this cherrypicking idea a condition of the new bidding process. In other words, whoever paid for the the sunday packages (in this case, CBS, Fox and DirectTV) knew that games during the season’s second half might get switched. And we’re only talking about one game for each of the final 7 weeks.
Also, I shouldn’t have necessarily cited ABC as they’ve not won the future rights to MNF yet. Though they’d have to be considered the prohibitive fave (very hard to imagine them not keeping the franchise) there was talk months back of NBC wanting to get back in business with the NFL
