…for that special someone with a 7″ X 7″ square stocking
At $5, Bada Bing’s 7″ of the Dead C.’s “Power (Fallujah Version) b/w “Bad Politics” might seem like questionable value-for-cash when compared to the same label’s ‘Vain, Erudite & Stupid’ 2XCD compilation by the same trio for $10. But sometimes, you’ve got to cast frugality to the wind (as Scott Boras might advise), and recognize that the above single is the most conceptual solid piece of plastic available at the very moment. It might’ve been even more crucial on Peter Abraham’s turntable prior to the midterms, but every little bit helps, regardless of the timing.
two music related questions for you:
any thoughts on the fucked up lp?
and, as an Austin Guy, do you know what ever became of knife in the water? i found a tape i made a few years ago with their lp (i forget what it was called, but it has the nancy sinatra/lee hazelwood cover of “sundown”) and it’s pretty alright, if only due to inherent nostalgia ,as i was still in high school when i picked it up and dropped “renee” and the sundown cover on every bad high school mixtape i made.
all that said, i’m definitely getting this dead c vinyl for my cat.
Finally! music my fiancée and I can agree on for our wedding reception…
